Someday...

Someday we want to have a program that works with "problem" kids, abused kids, or kids from a particular facility, and dogs from a shelter.  The kids would learn to work with the dogs and train them as Service Dogs so they could be given to a handicapped person.  Eventually, we would like this program to be part of a transitional living program (a program that houses youth aged 16-21 and teaches them basic living skills until they can be independent).   This program would hopefully raise self esteem in both the kids and the dogs, and teach both the kids and dogs to relate to/trust others in a new way.  Obviously, this would take more money and time than we have, and better facilities.  So, for now it's just someday.  But if anyone out there has any ideas, or wants to be a part of the program when it starts, email us!
